The matching of students to host families is a serious responsibility and to ensure the quality of the program in terms of the safety of exchange students, host families on our High School Year in Netherlands will now be required to present a Certificate of Good Conduct. This is in addition to the standard screening of families such as personal interviews, home visits,, references and host family application. The certificate of good conduct is obtained at the town register hall and gives the result of a police background check. If a person cannot produce the certificate this will automatically mean that the family cannot host a student. While majority of the students have had wonderful experiences with their host family save for the normal challenges of cultural adjustment, this additional requirement will mean that students will be more comfortable and confident when they go embark on their Exchange Year.
Qualified students aged 15 to 18 years old are invited to apply for the semester or the year program in Netherlands (also known as Holland) beginning in August 2010 / January 2011.
